Hoo-haa...India!! Aaayaa India!! Well, the Indian team are booking their return tickets at last..... saving us the avoidable disgust of seeing them get pounded by the rest of the world teams one by one. Acting true neighbours to the friendly foes Pakistan, their bags are packed and ready, faces long, expressions sombre, sad looks ready for deployment if the ever-hungry media tackles them at the Airport. Experts are trying to figure out what went wrong..... trying to work out the reason for the team's meek surrender....a team which had the best batting line-up in the world.

Lemme take my foto on what went wrong at the carribean... as it goes EVERTHING went wrong at the same time. Not for a second right since their first match did India show nerves of steel.....the steel required to win a high-pressure tournament like the World Cup. In the first game against Bangladesh, they appeared uncertain, like a team of trolls.... who didn't know whether to attack or defend wickets against a small-town team and ultimately lost the mental edge. Sehwag stood rooted to the ground as he swung his bat in great arcs, trying desperately to find form. Ganguly, though painstakingly slow, showed resilience and the fielders and bowlers disappointed.

Then along came Bermuda, an amateur team..... totally new to this scenario... and India gt a chance to make amends quickly. Sehwag hit a century, the others continued the good work of demolishing a bowling attack that was nowhere near the attack exerted by an Indian street team. But Sehwag looked tense and worried from the start.... the Indians started dominating the match only well past half the game.

The final hurdle arrived with a bang, and many successive events occured. The extremely fragile bowlers put in a decent effort of holding back a roaring side, eaded by Jayasuriya, intent on increasing their points. Dhoni pulled a couple of starry dives and dropped the plum ones, Tendulkar showed the world again why he is the world's most feared batsman.... and the Indian team gave up when the Lankans squeezed the mickey outta them.

The media is having a ball criticising Chappel for the losses.... but guys, what can a coach do if the players, who find it easier to act in advertisements and endorse products, show no team spirit, no killer instinct, and play some of the dullest cricket the world has seen? After all, he doesn't croon "Boost is the secret of my energy!!"

Dravid is an extremely good player who has a lot to offer the country in the years to come, but when it comes to captaincy, he is a sore stitch. The control Ganguly had over the players..... the body-language, the aggressive nature..... the sharp remarks he gave to people who deserved them..... they were what made him India's most successful captain. All these aren't Rahul's cup of tea.

Tendulkar should be given a break from World Cricket... so okay he's a legend and everything but even legends get sacked when they fail to perform. In this world, there are just two kinds of men..... winners and losers. And right now....Sachin is in the latters list. Give him a standing ovation.... tell him to take a break....bring in some new blood.... thats what can save us now. And we gotta renew Chappel's contract..... cuz to drive these lethargic fools around....kick their ass....cut their egoistic noses... we need a ruthless aussie like Chappel. Noone else can fill the gap.... no desi cricketer....cuz when it comes to kickass stuff.... you gotta learn it from the Aussies. And more.... Dada for captain....!! Pathan, Harbhajan and Dhoni should be given the boot.... Dinesh Kaarthick needs some attention, the poor guy. Dhoni can flaunt whatever he wants... opening a hair saloon may be a better option for him than cricket.

The Cup's gone.... another four years to plan, pursue and achieve.... lets hope we reach our destination next time!!

Phew......the past one week's been one of the most eventful ones in my ruddy life. What with the World Cup off to a blistering start...... the Nandigram ruckus....some other daily crap...most importantly....my finally filled records and observations and the rockin Iron Maiden concert...!!!

Took a coupla days off college to face all the load I had to complete..... then tried to wangle tickets for the concert.... failed magnificiently in the effort..... cried silently when I shaved off my french beard....hip-hip-hoorayed when Ireland burst a rod up Pakistan's ass.... booed when Sehwag brilliantly executed his duck-a-day routine..... forced my face into grim silence when I heard of Woolmer's death.... poor guy... the pressure took its toll on him after all.... he had to face the rap.... and Inzy too... he'll be remembered as one of the most honest players of all time.... well, things like these happen.... lets see how the Pakis bounce back. All these crap bring me back to the media.

There's this crappy channel on TV called Times Now.... bunch of shitheads..... unfiltered.... who created a goddamn sensation out of India loss to Bangladesh. Well folks, Bangladesh were way better on the field than India that day and the best team won. But what-the-fuck are these ANGRY FANS (read:bullshitters) thinking...... taking it unto themselves to teach players a lesson or two by breaking up buildings??? Here ye folks....you made these stars.... they are what they are because of YOU....they will be slow sluggish and lethargic as long as you provide them that larger-than-life image and make them gods. So this channel ran an exclusive for one damn day on this unimportant topic..... then when Woolmer died the next day.....they ran a cover story on how the Media were unnecessarily creating tensions amidst the public on trivial issues....leading to fates like Woolmer's.

The Chairman of Times Now better not be in Chennai....or I'm gonna fuckin screw him. So, coming back(or front ...it doesnt matter) to the status of the Indian team....well they pulled a fast one on Bermuda....but d00ds its BERMUDA they were playing....on no count can they be proclaimed to be on form....so lets wait and see....!!

P.s: About Ramadoss's campaign to change the medium of instruction in Proffesional Colleges to Tamil....is he really worth talking about in a honorable thing like a blog??? Sorry....sottai.....

Much has been written and said about the phenomenon of Global Warming. I'm pretty sure that this article will be given just a passing glance by browsers cuz lets face it: Everyone's had read enough articles about it to last them a lifetime. But then, do we really know all the facts??

The Indian Government, along with China and Brazil has been a strong supporter of this theory since long.....and hence it has always imparted to the public that Global Warming is a disaster looming towards us in the near future and our textbooks have carried a similar message since High School.

We have been fed opinions forcefully.....and since now there hasn't been much room given for free-thinking. Every argument has two sides..... and the Indian Public have never seen much of the other side of this issue: the side that debates fiercely that Global Warming is just a wild theory....and is untrue.

Read ahead to know what some prominent members of the Anti-GW movement have to say.

The conclusions of the IPCC are unjustified, as Cloud Physics is still a weak subject, a subject which hasn't fully evolved as of yet.....and is in no certain status to make predictions. Climate models CANNOT predict Future Climate till they can predict Solar and Volcanic activity. Most studies of IPCC have errors that have been hidden from the general public.The computer models used to make such predictions are still evolving, and don't take into account recent feedback mechanism. The increase in hurricane activity has been cited as the result of Tropical Multi-Decadal signal.

Industrial Revolution may not necessarily have caused Global Warming, as Global Temperatures went down between 1940-1970, even as CO2 levels shot up drastically.

There is a variation in the estimation of CO2's effectiveness as a greenhouse gas, but they are generally 10-100 times lower than water weight, leaving a net effect of man-made CO2 emisions at less than 1%.

Factors such as Sunspot activity, which occurs in a 11-year cycle, are directly related to Global Warming. Hence these may also be a cause for the rise in temperature.

Global Warming is largely a result of reduced low-altitude cloud cover from reduced Galactic Cosmic Rays.

Global warming is a highly politicized issue, with various Parties supporting various views. The climatologists take sides or cover-up bare facts due to the fear of losing their funding by the Parties. This phenomenon, also called the Politicisation Of Science, was discussed as a cause of concern by reknowned Science-Fiction author and critic Michael Crichton.

CO2 consists of just 0.0381% of the Earth's atmosphere. The Earth has been in an Ice Age with greater level of CO2 (0.441%) during the Ordovician Period. Studies of Ice-Age also show the CO2 levels increasing after Temperature Rise than before. Hence Correlation is not Causation.

Also, Greenhouse Effect and GDP growth are directly related. Hence the steps outlined by the IPCC for its prevention will cost us some serious money. Third-World countries will lose a lot of bread due to this.

During the 1970's, the Global Cooling concern was alarmist and was afterwards discarded. The Global Warming phenomena may turn out to be one too.

Like I said before, an argument always has two sides, and theories may constantly be proved and disproved. Personally, I don't know what to believe. Even though the Anti-GW's arguments do seem level-headed and logical, it is a fact that its prominent leaders are backed by powerful Fossil-Fuel Industries, which may face heavy losses if the Global Warming theory is confirmed.

Because merely, as Crichton himself states in one of his books, 'Absence of proof is NOT proof of absence'.

Welcome to the Indian west..... the glitzy land of Gorillas. The land of jarring remixes, larger-than-life stars and cliched movies.

Let me give you three reasons why Indian Cinema is going to the dogs.

1. Its got schmucks called Stars.

2. Any kind of noise is majorly called Music.

3. Ram Gopal Varma and the others.

You know a country is sure heading to the gallows when the news of an aged Bazouk superstar getting an Honorary Degree overshadows that of a hardworking uncommon Scientist recieving the same award. Thats it, ladies and gentlemen.... the world of demi-gods, crooners and glamourous copycats....Bollywood.

The term Bollywood itself is a sad relevation of the state of the Indian Mind today. Hell, which other country has stooped so low so as to name its Movie Industry in sync and rhyme with the American Film Industry of Hollywood??!!

And to think of the country's plight....when the local ones follow suit....naming themselves Kollywood (Kodamakkam) and Tollywood (Telugu) !!!

India can never hope to achieve the status of a Superpower, not as long as the general public worship the Star Avatars. Heck, people don't care about our citizens being killed in the North-East, but they perform poojas and lay garlands when an actor falls ill. Truly, I feel ashamed to live in the midst of such a population, I can tell you. If Abdul Kalam hadn't contested for the Presidential Elections, children would still be watching schmucks wriggling their fingers and singing duets in a movie hall.

I am not totally against cinema, people.....i appreciate good cinema.... cinema that makes you lean back and think. Cinema that contributes something to the society. Indian cinema is not devoid of these movies either.....there have been movies like Rang De Basanti, Yuva and Black which shine with an aura of their own in a crowd. But these movies are of the one-in-a-million category.

This sad state is due to the lack of good directors, who can think of good subjects and themes. Making commercial movies is not a sin, as even film-makers need their daily bread. But there should be an underlying meaning in all the din created. Why do we lack movies like V For Vendetta in a country that surely needs movies of such type.....what with its dim-witted politicians and degrading values?

I'd like to thank the likes of Sanjay Gupta, Ram Gopal Varma and other big-shot directors here.
" Thank you all for ur struggle of upholding Indian Cinema to International standards, but we don't need you anymore. You can take a break, Sanjay, there are hordes of movies which you haven't copied frame-by-frame yet, and we're really in no hurry to see them. You too, Mr. Varma, enough of ur once-upon-a-time-there-was-a-gangster bullshit. Honestly, Coppola should be feeling like shit right now....wondering why on earth he made 'The Godfather' after watching the Indianised versions. Mahesh Bhatt needs a movie as an excuse to let out his carnal desires.... who needs sex-education when his movies are being released every week? Also, all the Johars and Chopras.... we youngsters lost our appetite for Love and Families after watching your respective movies."

Also, a few aged actors should seriously consider retirement as an option.....c'mon guys, it gets you once in a while when you see toothless bozos flirting with young women...!

And to the Indian public: listen up, people.... actors aren't immortal. Period. You can't just burn buses, trash the roads and raise havoc when they die. And stop bursting crackers, throwing bashes and decorating their cut-outs with garlands. They are mortals who live on your money.....the day you start shunning bad movies, encouraging the fine arts and evolving into a mature and literate group....you'll be bigger than them.

Larger than life, I can assure you.

Loving a gal madly.....so madly that her very sight makes you go to 999th heaven... but being unable to tell her that you do, can be one bitchy experience. After all those days of silent observance....... crazy behavior..... changing interests.... growing attraction and fluctuatig fortunes.... the final 'No' word makes many a guy go reckless, wild and manic.

You know you love a gal when

1. U keep lookin at her, knowing tht its pointless....but still deriving the serene pleasure of seeing her face.

2. U fall down a chaos, blissfully aware that ur mind is fresh and free..... while hearing her voice over the fone.

3. U start crashing from within when she cries...... wanting to hold her and support her.... wiping away her tears.

4. U spend sleepless nights dreaming of her..... anxious about her opinion towards you.

5. U give up ur old habits.....willing to break ur ethos on the hope tht she may like you better.

6. U dread the D-day.....the day of reckoning.....and wonder whether life will ever be the same after that......

The magic tht keeps the world going.

Quite a hectic week indeed, but then there was a pleasant ending to the tale......saw the movie Guru yesterday.....amidst all the hype and public goddamn speculation....... and was it worth the wait!!!

Mani's movies have a habit of remaining highly discreet, yet the director teases our mind with occasional tidbits of information so that by the day of release, the movie generates a huge measure of hype and hoopla.....he's still in business cuz his movies live up to audience expectations, always.

Guru has gone one step beyond, though......it not only fulfills all expectations but also exceeds the limit.....thus churning out 3 hours of magic onscreen. The only period movies to near Guru's stature are Kamal Hassan's 'Hey Ram' and Mani's own 'Iruvar'.

Guru explains the growth of GuruKanth Desai....... an illiterate villager with a shrewd mind and a charming attitude. He works at Turkey, selling Petrol Cans for a living, and then returns to India, dreaming of making it big in life by doing business. The movie traces his slow rise to the Big League, and the hurdles that he faces as he grows in power and influence.

Abhishek rocks the scene with powerful acting, and he greatly resembles Bachchan Senior in certain shots. A few scenes trigger memories of Mani's earlier works, especially 'Nayagan'. Ash does a cool job as Guru's level-headed and confident wife.....excellent performances by Mithun Chakraborty and Madhavan make the story race through successfully. Vidya Balan, with minimum screen space, manages to reach through to the audience and the rest of the cast do a commendable job.

Rajiv Menon brings back the lush 50's of Indian History to life with stunning imagery and angles.......he sets the color and lighting apt to the mood of the scene. A.R.Rahman is a class unto his own....and need it be said that Mani has, for the n'th time, proved why he is the Best Director on this side of the country!

The worst day of my life, or rather, one of the worst days of my life.

Considering the fact that I still have a horde of assignments to submit, along with my Graphics work, English Seminar and Freelance Projekt, I can merrily sulk at the thought that the week ahead is gonna be a real bitch.

Any normal mortal might have cracked under the pressures that my circumstances offered, but I'm CK, one incorrigible sonofagun. So naturally, amidst all the fucked up mess I managed to squeeze time out to talk to the gals I know, putting kadalai (groundnuts) knowing that I'm taking the ball with my back against the wall.

And then, amidst all the chaos, deep in conversation with a well-known gal about totally teen stuff, something clicked. We were talking about the days we spent together years ago at Junior High.... the days of awakening.... when we guys discovered that we were no more children, girls were no more enemies, and Kamasutra was not an epic.

We had a rocking time then, a group of completely crazy fellows with our female counterparts, living the Cool life, grooving to the beats of the new generation. We were freshers to the Teen world then. Our adventures, fantasies and the consequences we faced were numerous and gripping....and we all moved ahead with life after the parting of ways occured, forcing the past to the corners of our mind.

We never forgot the old stuff, though. Cuz as they say, there's something about your first slice.

Anyway, this gal pal of mine, who I was talking to, gave me an idea. As mentioned before, I was the writer in our group, a regular helper of hopeless romantics with poems for all times, free of cost. And I write two-bit novels, my pals say they are good, and I haven't gone to the extent of trying to get them recongnised. The gal and I were talking of old times, when she said :"Hey CK....man, why doncha try punching our memories down in ink and paper? You could create a wonderful book, one full of surprises, adventures, and crazy humour!"

"A book?" I asked.

"Yea, a book. As in B.O.O.K, El Dorko!"

A book. Now, maybe I'm crazy, but i knew enough math to figure out that the pains of writing a book would ruin my already overloaded work table, so I promptly said "Naah....thas too much trouble. And we all know what happened, rite?? Wats the book for, then??"

The topic ended there, and after covering a patch of un-kadalied ground, I returned to my table, deep in thought.

I had always considered writing a book on my times at Delhi and Chennai, and her idea seemed to be the perfect opportunity to do the job without making it look autobiographical. Just a teen story, about a bunch of boys and gals, who go through the hurdles of life, full of raw energy and passion, and come to terms with their destiny. Period.

I whipped out a sheet, plucked a pen out from my bag, and wrote the heading : Four Point Noone.

"Hehe, maybe this is gonna be a wild ride"...........

Ahem ahem......... so now that the boundaries of my infinite wisdom (assholes snigger at this point) have been pushed farther towards blogs after the Orkut fiasco, it can be announced with a bang that CK has finally arrived here at Blogger with the sole aim of ruining candy-ass minds and trashing the world of blogging with my rabid and addictive influence (hehe).

So then people.........it is my duty to warn you that these pages are COMPLETELY pointless, and those jobless souls with enough time to kill may go ahead and browse through the contents that may appear here in future.

And to the kids, who might be tempted to take a peek into the hitherto unexplored mind of a psychic teen (who spends half his life locked up by his folks), I say this......Curiosity is NOT a sin, just make sure you clear your Browser History contents......all set?? So here goes!
